The Driveway Project
Kununurra & Wyndham
March 2020 - the world has changed, very rapidly.
Although we are quite remote here in the East Kimberley, the craziness associated with COVID-19 has reached us.
People have lost jobs, businesses not operating, kids can't go to school, no catching up with friends or extended family, trying to work from a home office with the kids at home too. Life has changed.
Self-isolation and social distancing has made things tough for people who are struggling.
With fear and sadness creeping into our every day lives, I figured it was time to inject some positivity back into our community!
I had been brainstorming ideas of what I could do, when I came across The Driveway Project photos by Francesca Fuga Photography in Darwin, who gathered the idea from a photographer in the US.
With a quick post to the Kununurra community Facebook page to gather interest for this free community project, I was flooded with enquiries!
Images are captured of people in front of their homes or in their driveways, all from a far distance to keep in line with social distancing ruling.
150 houses over 4 weeks, and growing.
This project has been so enjoyable for myself and the community has loved being a part of it.
I hope you can pick up some of the good vibes from these images too!

NEW! You can order a coffee table book with the images from the project here: The Driveway Project Book
