LBP1113 - Pentecost Crossing, Gibb River Road - Panorama

The Pentecost River Crossing on the eastern end of the Gibb River Road is one of the most iconic locations in the Kimberley region, with it being a must do bucket list items for thousands of people. I am lucky enough to have this beautiful place only a 1.5 hour drive from my home.

Looking up at the magnificent Cockburn Range that rises up 600m over the surrounding plains, leaves you in awe of this incredible landscape.

I have driven over this crossing many times always on the way to further exploring, which brought me to realise I had never captured the crossing as the sun is going down.

On this afternoon I sat on my camp chair in the shade of my car with Shelby dog at my feet, whilst I read a book and took in the peaceful surroundings.

As the sun began to set it created a gorgeous golden glow over the range and made the water of the river shimmer in the sunlight.

This image was captured standing on the roof of my car, to make sure I could capture as much of the view as possible.

For those who have visited this spot, you will understand the feeling you get driving over the river followed by looking back at the amazing view, all the more special at the end of the day.
